Survived another year

I’m another year older, does that make me any wiser? I had a great birthday yesterday. Special thanks to Cynthia for bringing home my favorite Shashimi dinner after pretending to be picking up Burger King :P and for my new toy! A Kodak Zi8 Video camera.

My goal for Meditation

I’d love to reach the goal where I sit down to meditate and for just one hour to have nothing pop into my mind. When I meditate now I’m thinking my breathing, in and out, in and out. Then slowing the exhale makes my breathing deeper.  Then the thoughts appear, my focus switches to them and I loose track of my breathing but haven’t noticed it yet.  I acknowledge the thoughts as them come and let them drift away, now back to my breathing.  During a session there will be what seems to be an endless time when I’m just following my breathing, they are actually just a few minutes.  My thinking is now done for the day.

When I ask myself a question I will immediately know the answer, or the next step to get me closer.  Decisions are made quickly and changed seldom if ever.  Once it’s made, take action immediately, or schedule it,t otherwise file it away in your someday maybe folder.

Learning about paradigms from Bob Proctor

When you first see the secret it will plant a seed in your mind.  As that seed grows you begin to get a better understanding of how the law of attraction works, and also the law of vibration.

I had the opportunity to meet with Bob a few weeks ago and thank him for introducing me to the concept of paradigms.

The collection of habits that make me the person I am today are my paradigms.  When I was a child I absorbed everything that was around me, the good and the bad.  Being consciously aware of this allows me to reflect on my current habits and beliefs and decide whether they are my own or something I picked up along the way.  It’s funny how we can do something over and over without ever stopping to ask why.  Maybe it’s time to let go of the things that are holding us back and start choosing how we want to live.

My new trainer kite – HQ Hydra 350

I picked up the Hydra 350 last week and have to say I’m very happy with it.  These kites have a lot of power and are a great way to learn kite control so you don’t kill yourself when flying something much larger.  If your new to kiting make sure you check the depower line is set tight enough, trust me I found out after being dragged along a field of wet grass after my kite didn’t lose enough power after I let go of the bar.  I’ll post some pictures and video of how to do this soon.

Saving 10%

Saving money is essential to building financial security.  I must admit that I haevn’t been a great saver since I moved out of my parents house many years ago.  The extra money that had been stockpiling in my account now pays for things like the mortgage, utilities and sometimes scary cell phone bill.

My ultimate goal is to live on 50% of my income.  I’ve taken this from the T. Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind money management plan.  Where the other 50% is broken down into:

  1. Financial Freedom Account (10%) – used only for investing and creating passive income streams.  Never spent, only invested!
  2. Play Account (10%) – must be spent each month on something that makes me feel good!
  3. Education Account (10%) – set aside for education: school, courses or seminars.
  4. Long-term Savings for Spending Account (10%) – accumulates so big purchases can be paid in full, like trips, cars, etc.
  5. Giving (10%) – given away to charities that I believe in.

By setting this goal I know it will be acheived.  I’ve already taken the first step today by moving 10% of the amount I deposited into a savings account.  I will do this each and every time money comes in.  Once it becomes easy the amount will increase until the 50% goal is reached.

First Post

Welcome to my blog.

Recently I’ve learned that “it’s not all about me”… There are so many people out there doing amazing things and even more who are struggling to manifest their dreams.

This blog is my way to track my progress on the many things I want to create in my life. It will show my successes and my temporary setbacks with the hope that it will show others that anything is possible.
